VERNON – Police are investigating a series of lottery ticket thefts from Vernon businesses.

In the thefts, a man and a woman enter the business and one creates a distraction by asking for directions on a map or by spilling a cup of coffee, Vernon RCMP state in a press release.

While the employee of the business is distracted, the second individual steals lottery tickets from the countertop display, police say.

Anyone with information about these offences is asked to call the Vernon RCMP at (250) 545 -7171 or call Crime Stoppers.
