Quebec boy, 4, dies after vehicle collision that killed his parents

SAGUENAY, Que. – Police say a four-year-old Quebec boy has died after his parents’ vehicle was involved in a collision with that of a man who is now facing several criminal charges.

Saguenay police say the boy died on Monday evening.

He had been on life-support since the collision on Saturday, while his parents died on impact.

Yves Martin, 35, was arraigned Monday on one charge of impaired driving causing the death of two people and one of dangerous driving causing the death of two people.

He was also charged with impaired driving causing bodily harm as well as dangerous driving causing bodily harm. Those charges may be upgraded because of the child’s death.

Martin’s bail hearing is set for Friday.
