TORONTO – Discount Car and Truck Rentals is officially owned by the parent company of Enterprise Rent-A-Car.
Enterprise Holdings Inc. says its Canadian branch has closed its deal to buy Discount’s 300 locations and the Quebec licensee’s daily rental businesses.
When the deal was announced at the end of 2019, the privately held, family-owned companies did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
The combined company says the deal will give rental customers access to a bigger fleet of vehicles, such as moving trucks, cargo vans and cube vans.
Steven Tudela, senior vice-president of Canadian operations for Enterprise Holdings, says it will also offer more efficient services, including airport rentals.
Enterprise, which also owns National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car, has 600 existing locations in Canada and says it will work with Discount employees on integrating the two brands.
