Snow falling on Okanagan Connector
KELOWNA – If travel between Merritt and Kelowna is on your to-do list today, make sure you have your snowbrush handy.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Okanagan Connector as a cold upper trough of low pressure moves across the Southern Interior this morning. The system is bringing showers to the region but the cooler weather led to a drop in the snow level.
Flurries began overnight above the 1,400 metre elevation mark and will continue near Pennask Summit this morning. In total two to four centimetres of snow is expected to accumulate before the weather shifts to rain this afternoon.
Drive B.C. is reporting the temperature hovering near 0 Celsius at Pennask Summit as of this 6 a.m.
