Driver given ticket after hitting pedestrian in Aberdeen

KAMLOOPS – A pedestrian is recovering after being hit by a vehicle near Aberdeen Mall yesterday afternoon.

Just after 4:00 p.m., May 26, police were on scene at Hillside Way near the mall, where they found a 17-year-old boy with injuries, according to a RCMP media release. He had been crossing the street in a marked crosswalk with pedestrian lights flashing.

The vehicle travelling in the inside lane stopped for him, but the driver in the outside lane didn't. The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

RCMP say the driver will be served a violation ticket for failing to stop for a pedestrian.
