Manitoba Moose score five goals on division-leading Chicago Wolves
CHICAGO – Five different players found the back of the net and Philippe Desrosiers made 22 saves in the Manitoba Moose’s 5-1 triumph over the Chicago Wolves Saturday in the American Hockey League.
Kristian Vesalainen, Nicholas Jones and Johnathan Kovacevic put Manitoba (5-3-1) ahead 3-0 after the first period. They scored in a span of 4:40.
Jimmy Oligny netted late in the second period and Cole Maier added a short-handed empty-net goal in the third.
Jalen Chatfield scored the lone goal for the division-leading Wolves (5-2-0), which only lost for the second time this season. Chicago was riding a five-game win streak.
Etu Makiniemi stopped 25-of-29 shots in the loss.
