Sea King helicopter makes emergency landing in parking lot of Nova Scotia beach

HALIFAX – A Sea King helicopter had to make an emergency landing Friday in the parking lot of a Nova Scotia beach.

RCMP say they received a call shortly before 1 p.m. that the helicopter had landed in the parking lot of Rainbow Haven provincial park.

There was only one vehicle in the parking lot at the time and the helicopter landed safely.

Three people were onboard the aircraft and no one appeared to be injured.

The helicopter was scheduled to take off later Friday afternoon.

Sea Kings support Royal Canadian Navy ships in surveillance and security. They are more than 50 years old.
