Man uninjured after wheelchair hit by train in downtown Kamloops

KAMLOOPS – Remarkably a man sitting in his wheelchair near Third Avenue and Lorne Street was not injured after being hit by a train this weekend.

RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says both Mounties and B.C. Ambulance were called to the downtown intersection just after 10 p.m., yesterday, May 29.

When paramedics found the man, he said he had no injuries and was fine. Media relations spokesperson for CP Salem Woodrow says the train was going slow. The man initially refused medical treatment but was later transported to hospital.

Woodrow says the man was not injured and neither were any of the crew members.
