International high school planned for Thompson Rivers University
KAMLOOPS – Thompson Rivers University is going to build a high school on its campus.
The university has signed an agreement with Maple Leaf Education North America to allow the education organization to start high school operations on the university campus in September 2016, with a purpose-built school facility in the future, according to a press release.
Maple Leaf Education North America is the subsidiary of China Maple Leaf Educational Systems, a company educating students in China under the B.C. and Chinese high school curriculums, with accreditation from both, according to the release.
The agreement with TRU means the organization will open its first school in Canada in Kamloops. It currently has eight B.C. certified high schools in China.
