PENTICTON – A Penticton motorist learned multi-tasking is not his strength after knocking over a lamp post in a car dealership lot last week.
A man was doing his laundry Friday evening, May 27, and while it was in the washer decided to go for a drive to look at new vehicles, Penticton RCMP spokeperson Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth says.
While driving through the Penticton Honda dealership lot, he saw one he liked and while staring at it, ran into a lamp post in the middle of the lot.
The lamp post toppled to the pavement, but fortunately did not hit any of the new cars on the lot.
The motorist called police, who responded and then notified fire department and city electrical personnel for safety reasons.
The man, who was very apologetic, was not intoxicated at the time, Wrigglesworth says.
