KAMLOOPS – When several Kamloops Mounties found their man — and made an arrest — he was in a city grocery store.
In a release today, June 1, Kamloops RCMP Staff Sgt. Edward Preto says police were looking for the 40-year-old man since he was a suspect in a break and enter early Tuesday morning. They found him today at the Real Canadian Superstore on Columbia Street West.
Multiple officers attended the store and arrested him without incident, Preto said.
"The man had been evading police since he committed the crime," Preto said. "The man is well known to police and is known to be violent with the police and others."
He is being held in Kamloops RCMP cells for a court appearance Thursday morning.
