Donations needed after fire rips through Kamloops apartment complex

KAMLOOPS – The owners of a North Shore apartment complex badly damaged in a fire are pleading to the public for donations to help the displaced families.

The Elizabeth Fry Society posted on Facebook yesterday, June 1, after the fire. The post says two units are so damaged that no one is allowed in at this time.

The fire happened around 2 a.m. yesterday at 873 Westminster Ave.

The society is looking for donations to help refurnish the suites once they are able to be occupied again.

Useful donations include gift cards for grocery and drug stores, beds, mattresses, bedding, pillows, dressers, cribs, kitchenware, small appliances, lamps, tables and chairs.

If you want to donate or would like more information, you’re asked to contact Dawn at 250-851-1388 or email courtwork@kamloopsefry.com.
