TORONTO – Oliver Stone is offering up a sneak peak at his biographical political thriller “Snowden.”
Canadians in select cities will get a chance to preview the film two days before its release Sept. 16.
The screening will be followed by a live interview between Stone and whistleblower Edward Snowden, with the Oscar-winning filmmaker speaking from New York and Snowden appearing via satellite from Moscow.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars as the National Security Agency whistleblower who exposed the agency’s surveillance programs.
“Snowden Live” takes place Sept. 14 in cities including Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Kanata, Ont., Toronto, Kitchener, Ont., Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
The Cineplex event comes as “Snowden” makes its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 9.
