Goalie Jenny Scrivens signs with National Women’s Hockey League’s New York team

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Goaltender Jenny Scrivens signed with the New York Riveters of the National Women’s Hockey League on Tuesday, while goalie Amanda Makela joined the Buffalo Beauts.

Scrivens played three seasons for Cornell, playing in 52 games with a 15-28-2 record. In her final season, Scrivens recorded a .916 save percentage and 2.56 goals against average.

She is also the wife of Edmonton Oilers goalie Ben Scrivens.

Makela is a graduate of Mercyhurst where she played four seasons in net for the Lakers. The native of Thunder Bay, Ont., was the College Hockey America conference 2015 Goaltender of the Year, appearing in 31 games posting a 20-8-3 record, with a 1.44 goals against average and a .932 save percentage.
