Fire at apartment building in downtown Penticton

PENTICTON – Fires crews made short work of a fire in an apartment in a six-storey building in downtown Penticton last night.

Penticton firefighters quickly put out the fire confined to a third-floor unit at 360 Brunswick Street, just around the corner from the downtown fire hall.

Several people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation by B.C. Ambulance Service paramedics, according to unconfirmed reports.

The people living in the apartment weren’t able to return home and are in the care of Emergency Social Services.
