Police want help identifying person who shot pitbull in Nanaimo, B.C.

NANAIMO, B.C. – Police are asking for the public’s help to find the person responsible for shooting a pitbull in Nanaimo, B.C.

A woman who called R-C-M-P on Sunday reported hearing an gunshot then a dog yelp.

Police say animal control was contacted and the dog was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, where an X-ray showed a small bullet lodged under its skin.

The dog is expected to recover.

SPCA was able to find the dog’s owner.

Police talked with neighbours, but no one was able to identify the personal responsible for the shooting.
