The Latest: Meth, heroin, cash found in trailer with bodies

LACEY, Wash. – The Latest on a fatal shooting near Olympia (all times local):

5:15 p.m.

Police say that in addition to meth, investigators found heroin, several thousand dollars and about half a dozen firearms inside of a travel trailer where three people were found shot to death.

None of the weapons found were involved in Wednesday’s shooting, said Chief Deputy Dave Pearsall, with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.

He said that they’re not yet calling it a drug-related crime, but noted “this is a known area for some narcotics being sold.”

Pearsall said that there was no sign of a struggle in the trailer in Lacey, Washington, and the two men were both shot in the head and the woman was shot in the back.

Investigators have talked with the man who survived the shooting and called 911, but Pearsall said he’s still not coherent following surgery. He hasn’t been ruled out as a suspect at this time, but is not currently a suspect, Pearsall said.

Investigators say they found half a pound of methamphetamine in a travel trailer where three people were found shot dead.

Chief Deputy Dave Pearsall, with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, said they also found two rifles inside but don’t believe they were used in the crime.

“We don’t know if this was a drug deal but drugs were present,” he said.

Officials also released the ages and hometowns of those killed and injured in Wednesday’s shooting. The three people found dead in the trailer near Lacey, Washington were a 31-year-old woman, a 28-year-old Olympia man and a 34-year-old Elma man.

Another man who was shot and survived is 30 and from Olympia. He underwent surgery at a local hospital and is in stable condition, Pearsall said.

Thurston County authorities say a man who called 911 early Wednesday to say he was shot and three others were dead is stable after undergoing surgery.

Chief Deputy Dave Pearsall with the Thurston County sheriff’s office says they found the man who had been shot in his chest was collapsed on a driveway near Lacey.

Although the man said he didn’t know where he was when he called 911, dispatch was able to use his cellphone to find his general location. He and the other three shooting victims were found on a property on the east side of Lacey, just north of the state capital of Olympia.

Thurston County authorities say they have no suspects and no idea why four people were shot near Olympia.

A man called 911 just after 5 a.m. Wednesday saying he was shot and three friends were dead.

Chief Deputy Dave Pearsall of the Thurston County sheriff’s office says two men and a woman were found dead in a travel trailer behind a residence near Lacey.

Pearsall says authorities have no idea who was there and why they were there. They are working on search warrants and could not share any information about the identity of the victims.

Thurston County authorities say three people are dead and one injured after an early morning shooting near Olympia.

The Olympian newspaper reports (https://is.gd/AxGPRp) a man called 911 just after 5 a.m. saying he was shot and three friends were dead.

Thurston County deputies say the bodies of two men and a woman were found inside a travel trailer behind a home near Lacey.

The victims have not been identified.

It was not immediately known who the shooter is or what prompted the slayings.
