Some of the most active companies traded Thursday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (14,238.40, down 101.13 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down four cents, or 2.67 per cent, to $1.46 on 9.4 million shares. The stock closed at a 22-year low as Fitch Ratings joined Moody’s and S&P in downgrading the company and describing its outlook as negative.

Crescent Point Energy (TSX:CPG). Oil and gas. Down 29 cents, or 1.62 per cent, to $17.58 on 6.4 million shares.

Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSX:R). Miner. Down three cents, or 5.17 per cent, to 55 cents on 4.3 million shares.

Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. (TSX:PRE). Oil and gas. Down 47 cents, or 10.44 per cent, to $4.03 on 4.1 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Down 42 cents, or 3.98 per cent, to $10.13 on 3.5 million shares.

Goldgroup Mining Inc. (TSX:GGA). Miner. Unchanged at 7.5 cents on 3.4 million shares.

TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Down 92 cents, or 1.92 per cent, to $47.12 on 1.1 million shares. TransCanada pointed to a new study on how pipeline safety stacks up against rail to show why two of its controversial projects should be built. The report by the Fraser Institute says the rate of incidents or accidents per million barrels of transported crude is 4.5 times higher for rail than for pipelines.
