Blackway to premiere at Vernon theatre this week
VERNON – If you didn’t manage to snag a ticket to the invitation-only premiere of Blackway at the Enderby Drive-in, you can still be one of the first people to see it in Vernon.
The movie, which was filmed in Enderby, Lumby and Vernon, starts playing Friday at the Vernon Towne Cinema.
Tickets are on sale now at the box office for the June 10 premiere. The dark thriller, which stars Sir Anthony Hopkins, Julia Stiles, Ray Liotta and Alexander Ludwig, will play nightly at 7 p.m. at the Towne Cinema.
The world premiere was held at the drive-in last week.
Roughly 150 locals were involved in making the film, from actors to construction workers. One of the producers, Rick Dugdale, grew up in Enderby and says it was very special to shoot in his hometown.
