Body found in field by Kamloops resident

KAMLOOPS – Police were alerted to a body found in a field on Columbia Street West this afternoon.

Sgt. Darren Michels of Kamloops RCMP said in a release the RCMP Serious Crime Unit and B.C. Coroner's Service were called to investigate.

"At this time the discovery of this body is not believed to be criminal in nature, and the investigation is ongoing," he said.

The body was discovered by someone walking through a grassy area near the 1300 block of Columbia Street West at 4:12 p.m. today, June 8.
