Custom guitar stolen from country trio Rascal Flatts during Oregon concert recovered

BROWNSVILLE, Ore. – Authorities say they have recovered a custom guitar that was stolen from the pop-country trio Rascal Flatts during a concert in Oregon over the weekend.

The band was performing at the Willamette (wil-AM’-it) Country Music Festival in Brownsville, north of Eugene, on Friday night when the $2,000 instrument went missing backstage.

Linn County sheriff’s detectives were working at the festival and said they were able to identify the suspects as 19-year-old man from Eugene and a 17-year-old girl from Junction City, both of whom attended the show. Sheriff Bruce Riley said a detective met the man on Sunday and took possession of the guitar, which appeared undamaged.

The suspects were reportedly co-operative when interviewed by investigators. Representatives of the band requested that authorities not pursue criminal charges if the instrument was returned intact.
