
Injured off-road motorcyclist rescued in hills east of Penticton
PENTICTON – Search and rescue volunteers were called in to find and evacuate an injured off-road motorcyclist near Penticton this morning.
A man in his 40s lost control of his motorcycle in the hills east of the city at about 10 a.m., June 11 — and although he couldn’t move due to his injuries — he managed to 911 from his cell phone, according to a media release from Penticton Search and Rescue.
The volunteers found the victim, provided some basic medical treatment and loaded him into a stretcher. He was carried out to a waiting B.C. Ambulance and taken to hospital.
No word on the extent of his injuries.
