Driver killed in Peachland rollover
PEACHLAND – A rollover in Peachland on Highway 97 and the Highway 97C off-ramp early this morning has claimed a life.
RCMP say a Jeep Cherokee rolled at about 1:25 a.m., June 12, throwing the driver from the vehicle.
The driver, who was the only person in the Jeep, was badly injured.
“Despite the efforts of witnesses and emergency services personnel, the driver injuries proved fatal and he was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Cpl. Cory Lepine says in a media release.
The highway was closed for several hours for the investigation by the RCMP collision reconstructionist and to clear the wreckage.
Police aren’t releasing the driver’s identity at this time.
Both the West Kelowna RCMP and the BC Coroners Service continue to investigate.
