RCMP targeting Armstrong youth this summer (with slurpees)

North Okanagan RCMP are looking to hand out tickets to kids all over Armstrong this summer. But these are tickets you might not mind getting.

The detachment has teamed up with the Armstrong 7-Eleven and police will be handing out 'tickets' for slurpees.

Officers will be on the look out for young boarders and bikers who are riding safely and wearing their helmets.

The initiative is being spearheaded by Const. Don Gunn.

"It's a great way for our officers to interact with the young people in Armstrong," Gunn says. "We have a lot of kids doing really positive things, and we look forward to rewarding them for being good citizens of our community."

So if you're riding in Armstrong this summer, wear your helmet and look out for the cops.
