Trial to resume for Ashcroft man accused of killing uncle

KAMLOOPS – After a lengthy delay, Crown and defence lawyers will resume making arguments in a Kamloops Supreme Court tomorrow morning in the case of an Ashcroft man accused of killing his uncle.

Shane Takeshi Gyoba is charged with second degree murder after his uncle Ed Gyoba died from blunt force trauma in the backyard of the home they shared in Ashcroft.

Throughout the proceedings Gyoba has had several outbursts inside the courtroom.

The trial began last August but was stopped during the first week after Gyoba’s lawyer requested a psychiatric assessment. The results are expected to be revealed in court tomorrow morning, June 14.
