PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Michael McNiven made 29 saves for the shutout in a Laval Rocket 4-0 victory against the Providence Bruins in the American Hockey League on Saturday.
Gianni Fairbrother, Xavier Ouellet and Brandon Gignac, into the empty net, scored their first goals of the season. Laurent Dauphin netted his fourth of the year.
Laval (3-1-0) scored twice in the first period and added another two in the third.
The Bruins (1-1-2) got 24 saves from Callum Booth.
