Armed robbery of cannabis store in Kelowna has RCMP asking for tips

RCMP are appealing for information from the public today following an armed robbery at a Kelowna cannabis store earlier this week.

A man and woman walked into a cannabis retail outlet on Lawrence Avenue and demanded cash from an employee at around 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, according to an RCMP media release.

“The pair threatened the employee with a firearm and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and store merchandise,” Kelowna RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Tammy Lobb said in the release.

A police dog searched the area but the suspects got away.

“No one was physically injured during this incident," Lobb said. "Police are releasing images of the suspects in hopes that the public can aid in identifying them.”

RCMP describe the first suspect as a Caucasian male, tall with a muscular build. He was wearing a dark grey Under Armour hoodie with black overalls, black gloves and a half-face mask with a skull design.

The second suspect is described as a Caucasian female of average height and small build. She was wearing an orange or faded red Lululemon hoodie with light blue jeans. She had shoulder-length frizzy red hair and black framed glasses. She was wearing black gloves and a light coloured half-face mask.

Kelowna RCMP are warning other cannabis stores to be vigilant in their security measures and to report any suspicious activity.
