
Pedestrian struck by freight train in Salmon Arm
SALMON ARM – A pedestrian was taken to hospital after getting hit by a train in downtown Salmon Arm on the weekend.
The collision happened at about 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 18, at the intersection of Marine Park Drive and Lakeshore Drive NE, CP Rail spokesperson Salem Woodrow says.
Canadian Pacific confirms the pedestrian was taken to hospital but won’t comment on the person’s condition. The individual’s age and gender are also not being released.
Salmon Arm RCMP, CP Police and emergency responders were at the scene Saturday afternoon.
Salmon RCMP Sgt. Scott West deferred comment to CP Rail Police when contacted by iNFOnews.ca.
