American star Lindsey Vonn claims 12th career World Cup victory at Lake Louise

LAKE LOUISE, Alta. – Lindsey Vonn’s reign at Lake Louise continues.

The American ski star won the season-opening downhill for her 12th career World Cup victory at the Alberta ski resort.

Vonn won in a time of one minute 52.61 seconds, which was 1.73 seconds ahead of teammate and runner-up Stacey Cook.

Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany and Tina Weirather of Liechtenstein tied for third in 1:54.35.

The race was interrupted a few times due to fog and poor visibility on the course.
