Kelowna cops go all out to return stolen luxury boat to owner

KELOWNA – A boat and trailer stolen from a Kelowna boat dealership has been found undamaged in the Lower Mainland.

The boat, a 2016 Campion SVFARA tow/surf boat on a custom Phoenix trailer, was taken from Banner Recreation on McCurdy Road at around 9 a.m. June 19. The set is valued at roughly $150,000.

Surveillance cameras captured images of two men driving a newer model, white SUV and the owner posted details on the company’s Facebook page.

"Since the theft, the Kelowna RCMP Prolific Offender Suppression Team, which is part of the Street Enforcement Unit, hit the streets, worked extensively to develop leads and spent countless man hours on this investigation, which spanned multiple jurisdictions,” Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a release.

Cpl. Jeff Carroll says the investigation involved contacts with known prolific offenders in Kelowna and the Southeast District.

"Today, one of our partners from the RCMP in the Lower Mainland located and recovered the stolen vessel in the Abbotsford area,” he says in a release.

The release says the boat appears un-damaged.
