Another confrontation in Kamloops, this time homeowners assaulted and sent to hospital

KAMLOOPS – Less than two weeks after a young man was sent to hospital after he was beaten with a baseball, police say two residents were sent to hospital last night after confronting people on their property.

Noise woke a homeowner in the 3200-block of Westsyde Road at 4:15 this morning, June 29, and when he looked outside, police say he saw people attempting to enter his vehicle, according to a release. Sgt. Darren Michels says two residents confronted the three men outside and 'an altercation ensued'. 

"The two residents suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital where they received treatment and were then later released," Michels says in the release.

Police were unable to find the three men. Police say they are all over six feet tall. Two of them were wearing black hoodies, the other wore a grey hoodie. 

On June 19, an 18-year-old teen from Savona was assaulted with a baseball bat and remains in a coma at Royal Inland Hospital. Police said a home owner found Simpson on his property and chased him down the street before beating him with the baseball bat.

Kris Teichrieb, 39, is charged with attempted murder.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the altercation on Westsyde Road is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
