Stolen vehicle leads Kamloops RCMP to firearms seizure
Officers responding to a report of a stolen in vehicle in Kamloops last week were led to a Westsyde Road home and wound up seizing half a dozen guns.
Just before midnight on Wednesday, Nov. 16, officers were following up on a stolen car report and ended up a home in the 3000 block of Westsyde Road, according to an RCMP media release.
Four suspects were arrested.
“With assistance from the frontline officers, the Kamloops RCMP Crime Reduction Unit obtained a search warrant for the residence which resulted in the seizure of six firearms, including one that was loaded, and another reported as stolen from Alberta,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
“Other stolen property and a small amount of illegal drugs were located as well.”
Of the four people arrested, one was released with conditions and a court date, RCMP said. The other three suspects were released without process.
