iN PHOTOS: How Kamloops does Canada Day
KAMLOOPS – It was nothing but fun in Riverside Park yesterday for Canada Day activities.
The weather co-operated for the festivities and police said there were few incidents to report, thanks in part to some careful planning. Kamloops RCMP Sgt. Darren Michels said in addition to the usual heavy police presence for such events, they set up a booth to help parents and children reunite if they got separated in the crowd.
"Police dealt with the issues relating to the consumption and possession of alcohol and public disturbances which are regularly associated with such a large community event," he said in a release.
