Hawaiian, Alaska and Delta best for on-time arrivals; Spirit and Frontier rank worst

Here are the government’s rankings of the leading airlines and their on-time performance for July. The federal government counts a flight as on time if it arrives within 14 minutes of schedule.

1. Hawaiian Airlines, 88.6 per cent

2. Alaska Airlines, 86.4 per cent

3. Delta Air Lines, 84.2 per cent

4. American and US Airways, 80.0 per cent

5. ExpressJet, 78.7 per cent

6. SkyWest, 78.8 per cent

7. Envoy Air, 78.6 per cent

8. Virgin America, 76.8 per cent

9. JetBlue Airways, 76.5 per cent

10. United Airlines, 73.5 per cent

11. Southwest Airlines, 73.5 per cent

12. Frontier Airlines, 71.4 per cent

13. Spirit Airlines, 68.7 per cent

Total for all reporting airlines: 78.1 per cent

American Airlines and US Airways were previously reported separately. Both airlines and Envoy Air are owned by American Airlines Group Inc. The report does not cover smaller airlines including Allegiant Air and many regional carriers.
