Two people robbed in Kamloops within hours of each other

Kamloops RCMP are investigating after two people were mugged in the city's downtown this past weekend.

The first robbery was in an alleyway behind the 500 block of Victoria Street where a woman was hit with a blunt object around 9:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, according to an RCMP news release.

The female suspect then took the victim's Bluetooth speaker and wallet, which is pink with flowers on it.

The media release said the attack was "not believed to be random," but an RCMP spokesperson wouldn't confirm whether investigators believe the suspect and victim knew each other.

Police said the female suspect had a "darker complexion" and black hair, and was wearing a black toque and dark clothing at the time.

Just hours earlier, a passerby recorded an assault and robbery with their dashcam but police haven't been able to identify the victim or his assailants.

The witness saw two men run up to a third man on Seymour Street and 6 Avenue on Friday afternoon. The suspects assaulted the man and stole his belongings.

Officers were called around 5:10 p.m., but the mugging was around 4:20 p.m.

The first suspect is described as a Caucasian man in his 20s. He has scruffy facial hair, and he was wearing a green hoodie, yellow backpack, ripped blue jeans and glasses at the time.

The second suspect had army leggings, a black parka with fur on its hood and he had a teardrop tattoo under his left eye.

Anyone with information about either of these incidents can contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
