Highway patrol nabs out of province driver going 164 km/h near Falkland

An out of province driver was caught excessively speeding on Highway 97 in the North Okanagan yesterday afternoon.

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP say in a post to social media today, Feb. 23, the driver was in the process of moving to B.C.

Police don't say which province the driver was moving from.

The driver was given a $483 fine and their car was impounded for seven days.

“Not a great way to start your B.C. adventure,” RCMP said in the post that included the hashtag #NoExcuses.
