OTTAWA – The Ottawa Redblacks acquired a 2023 second-round draft pick from the Edmonton Elks on Monday for the rights to Canadian linebacker Woodly Appolon.
Ottawa acquired the 12th selection overall in the deal, giving it three second-round picks and 10 overall in the ’23 draft, the most of any CFL team.
The CFL draft will be held May 2.
Ottawa selected the six-foot-four, 220-pound Appolon in the fifth round, 40th overall, in the 2022 CFL draft. Appolon, of Montreal, had 18 tackles (10 solo, one for loss) in nine games last season at Tuskegee University.
