North Okanagan cops bust four drunk drivers

North Okanagan RCMP officers busted four drunk drivers over the weekend.

According to Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media release, four separate drivers were issued 90-day roadside bans and had their vehicles impounded for 30 days following drunk driving incidents ranging from Vernon to Enderby.

The first drunk driver to be nabbed was speeding just before midnight March 10 on 27 Avenue in Vernon when he was pulled over. The 24-year-old then blew a "fail" on a breathalyzer test and got an Immediate Roadside Prohibition.

The following day in Armstrong police pulled a driver over on Wood Avenue near Bridge Street at 11:45 p.m. The 42-year-old Kelowna driver failed a breathalyzer and lost his licence for 90 days.

Later that night at about 3 a.m. March 12, police pulled another driver over after he committed a traffic offence. A 46-year-old Armstrong man failed a breathalyzer test and suffered the same fate as the other drivers.

Finally, at roughly 8:30 p.m. March 12, police received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving Enderby.

A 50-year-old Armstrong woman was pulled over on Rosedale Avenue in Armstrong, failed a breathalyzer and lost her licence for 90 days.

Police urge anyone who suspects someone that is driving is impaired to call 911. If possible have the plate number, make, model, and colour of the vehicle, along with a description of the driver and location of the vehicle and direction of travel.
