Vernon RCMP investigating after body found in car

Vernon RCMP are currently investigating after a body was discovered in a vehicle parked in a driveway at a home in the city's Harwood neighbourhood.

Police have cordoned off an area in the 4600 block of 20 Street today, March 13.

Vernon RCMP Const. Chris Terleski told iNFOnews.ca the investigation is in the very early stages but police do not believe there is any immediate public safety risk.

A neighbour who'd been home all day said they didn't hear or see anything suspicious. The neighbour said the house had been empty for several months but prior to that described it as a "crack house."

Police haven't yet said when the body was found.

Const. Terleski said more information will be released as it becomes available.
