
Driver involved in fatal Shuswap hit and run to appear in Kamloops court
KAMLOOPS – A driver charged with fleeing the scene after crashing into and killing a motorcyclist in the Shuswap is set to appear in Kamloops court today.
Raymond Edward Swann, 55, is facing charges of criminal negligence causing death and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Swann was arrested and released on bail April 4 of this year.
A 60-year-old Chase man was killed in the crash which happened on April 3.
The victim's motorcycle was struck by a pickup truck travelling in the same direction toward Chase. Swann allegedly fled the scene after the collision, but called police from his home in Sorrento after the fact.
Swann is expected to consult with legal counsel in Kamloops Provincial Court today, July 8.
