Kelowna head-on collision leaves one in critical condition

One person is in critical condition following a head-on collision on Highway 33, while three others suffered serious injuries.

According to a Kelowna RCMP media release, a newer blue Ford Escape SUV crossed the centre line and was hit by a white 2018 Dodge Ram in the 6600 block of Highway 33. Police got the call at roughly 6:15 p.m. yesterday, March 21.

Each vehicle contained two occupants, all of which are now in hospital.

Police say the Ford SUV was heading westbound into Kelowna when the collision happened.

"It was previously reported that one person had succumbed to their injuries, however, they remain in grave condition in hospital," the release says.

Kelowna RCMP are appealing for witnesses or dash-cam video of the road conditions at the time or the collision.

Anyone with information is urged to send B.C. Highway Patrol Const. James Ward an email at james.ward@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
