Robbery suspect with a concealed weapon arrested in Kamloops

A suspect is out on bail after he was arrested for a robbery and carrying a concealed weapon in Kamloops last weekend.

Kamloops RCMP responded to a business in the 1000 block of Hillside Drive at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, where staff were dealing with a man carrying a weapon, according to an RCMP news release. RCMP do not identify the business.

Police found a suspect when they arrived and seizing a number of items including weapons while arresting him.

Police did not specify what items were seized, nor did they detail what kind of weapon he was carrying.

Jonathan Andrew Deneault, born in 1993, is expected to appear in court again April 11 after he was released on conditions.

Deneault is facing charges for robbery, possessing a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
