Fatal collision on Trans-Canada in Kamloops
A man was killed after he was hit by a truck on the Trans-Canada Highway in Kamloops.
Emergency crews were called to the collision on East Trans Canada Highway near Lafarge Road in the Dallas neighbourhood just before 10 a.m. today, May 2, according to an RCMP news release.
Police arrived to find first responders performing first aid on the man who had been hit by a truck. He died soon after.
“The preliminary investigation suggests the victim had struck a barrier on the highway and was out of his vehicle when another vehicle collided with him,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.
Police rerouted traffic while emergency crews were on the scene. The highway has since completely reopened.
