Yamana Gold Inc. (TSX:YRI). Miner. Up 16 cents, or 8.12 per cent, to $2.13 on 5.6 million shares.

Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX:SU). Oil and gas. Up $1.39, or 4.16 per cent, to $34.81 on 5.4 million shares.

Baytex Energy Corp. (TSX:BTE). Oil and gas. Up 17 cents, or 3.09 per cent, to $5.67 on 5.1 million shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Up four cents, or 2.40 per cent, to $1.71 on 4.8 million shares.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX:CNQ). Oil and gas. Up $1.65, or 6.27 per cent, to $27.98 on 4.7 million shares.

Power Corp. (TSX:POW). Holding company. Up 78 cents, or 2.80 per cent, to $28.61 on 1.5 million shares. Another alarm bell sounded Wednesday for the future of print newspapers in Canada when one of the country’s largest and oldest dailies announced the end of its printed weekday edition nearly three years after introducing a free digital tablet edition. Montreal La Presse, owned by Power Corp., announced the print edition of the 131-year-old French-language paper will only be available on Saturdays after Jan. 1.
