Thunderstorms moving through Okanagan region
Thunderstorms are developing and moving through the Okanagan, Similkameen and Boundary regions this afternoon.
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Central Okanagan including Kelowna, as well as the Nicola, Similkameen and Boundary regions.
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the North Okanagan, including Vernon and the South Okanagan, including Penticton.
A thunderstorm five kilometres east of Kelowna along Highway 33 is slowly moving to the northeast at five km/h.
Meteorologists are also tracking a cluster of thunderstorms near Pennask Summit along Highway 97C, which is bringing heavy downpours as it slowly moves northeast.
In the Similkameen, a slow and continuous line of thunderstorms located between Hedley and Keremeos along Highway 3 is resulting in heavy downpours.
The thunderstorm in the Boundary region is located between Rock Creek and Greenwood along Highway 3 and is slowly moving north at 10 km/h resulting in heavy downpours.
