UPDATE: Body found on river shore in Kamloops not suspicious

KAMLOOPS – RCMP say nothing is suspicious about a body found on the south shore of the South Thompson River yesterday morning, July 12.

Police were called around 8:30 a.m. after a woman’s body was found near the riverbank by the Colombo Lounge on Lorne Street, says Cpl. Jodi Shelkie. In a July 13 release, Shelkie says police have turned the investigation over to the B.C. Coroner's Service.

The cause of death is unknown but Shelkie says it appears the woman was in her 50s.
