RCMP seize firearms, stolen motorcycle in South Okanagan arrest

Oliver RCMP called for back up as they tried to arrest a man on outstanding warrants yesterday afternoon.

A 31-year-old man was believed to be armed and hiding in an outbuilding on an Oliver property, according to an RCMP news release.

Police were called to the home around 3:30 p.m. yesterday, May 23, and Oliver RCMP called in for support from neighbouring detachments to help bring him into custody.

Officers seized several firearms and a stolen motorcycle from inside the building in the 6000 block of Kootenay Street.

Police didn't name the suspect and the investigation is still ongoing.
