Craig Ferguson to host ‘Join or Die,’ American history debate show

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Craig Ferguson is ready to debate American history on cable’s History channel, the network announced Thursday.

The Scottish-born comedian will star in “Join or Die,” a half-hour series where he debates historical topics with guests including celebrities and history experts, as well as viewers through social media.

Topics might include: What was the biggest presidential campaign flop? And who was the greatest founding father?

The phrase “Join or Die” is Benjamin Franklin’s rallying cry to the divided colonists. And it was tattooed on Ferguson’s forearm when he became an American citizen in 2008.

No premiere date for the 16-episode season was announced.

Ferguson starred on CBS’ “The Late Late Show” for a decade. He is currently host of the syndicated “Celebrity Name Game.”
