Wildfire along railway across lake from Tobiano near Kamloops
BC Wildfire Service is responding to a new fire across Kamloops Lake from Tobiano this morning.
The one-hectare blaze was discovered just offshore around 5:45 a.m., according to the wildfire service.
A four-person ground crew is using water from the lake to douse the blaze near Rosseau Creek, fire information officer Aydan Corray said.
Wildfire mapping data and social media images show it's south of the passing CN railway, but the cause is still under investigation, she said.
The wildfire service will be working closely with the rail company as the fire burns near its line along Kamloops Lake.
