iN VIDEO: Unsafe pass forces driver to avert head-on collision near Clearwater

There was a close call when the driver of a personal vehicle noticed two semi trucks driving side-by-side on a two-lane section of Highway 5 near Clearwater late last week.

The near miss happened south of Clearwater Friday, June 2, according to a post on the Facebook page Skilled Truckers Canada.

The driver recording the video is suddenly approached by two oncoming semis, as one was trying to pass the other on a double solid, but managed to prevent disaster by swerving onto the shoulder and a turning lane.

BC's Motor Vehicle Act states that drivers who overtake other vehicles “must not cause or permit the vehicle to return to the right side of the highway until safely clear of the overtaken vehicle.”
